Course Description (for SIS)

Neural Mechanisms of Behavior course surveys the biological, anatomical and physiological underpinnings of human behavior. With an emphasis of neural circuits and systems, this course provides students with opportunities to gain a basic understanding for how we sense stimuli, control movement, acquire a language, learn what to fear, and cope with stress. The practical strategies to read and interpret scientific literature, and to discuss scientific ideas are emphasized.
