This course is required for and limited to participants in the Department of Psychology Distinguished Majors Program. (DMP).  It is a one-credit seminar (graded S/U) designed to supplement the Distinguished Major Thesis, PSYC 4980.  The purpose of the seminar is to provide information and guidance about the process of preparing a thesis, to discuss professional development issues, and to encourage communication among DMP participants. Members also have the opportunity to present their work to the group and to a general conference on undergraduate research organized by the UVa Psychology Department.

Class sessions consist of group and individual meetings. Please make sure you check your email regularly for course information and schedule updates.  If you cannot attend class, please notify the instructors in advance.

A requirement for successful completion of the seminar is to learn about department research. You can do this by attending area weekly research meetings, department colloquia, and department job talks. If you like, you may attend an area research meeting on a regular basis. But you are required to attend a minimum or two dept. research presentations. Information about available presentations will be sent via email.
