The 4886 field experience is a year-long, pre-student teaching practicum.  The main purpose of the 4886 field placement is to develop students’ skill in observing and reflecting on instruction, designing instruction, and presenting whole-class lessons. Students are assigned in pairs to one classroom for both fall and spring semesters. The 4886 Field Placement is closely associated with your EDIS 5601: Teaching Social Studies course.  It is a separate course, however, and you will receive a separate grade (S or U).
