Class Overview for SIS
In this class we will critically examine source material and their adaptations across multiple genres and formats. Our source texts will come primarily from 19th century British literature, compelling stories that have been adapted and rewritten from the time they were first published and into our present moment. The genres and texts we will study include romance—Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre; the supernatural—Frankenstein and Dracula; the detective story—Sherlock Holmes; and fantasy (text to be determined).
