Instructor Bio:

Cathy Clary is a local garden consultant and writer with a background in estate gardening and residential design. www.hollowgarden.com

 

Dates/Times:

Wednesdays, February 12 – March 5, 6:30-8:30 pm with two Saturday field trips, Feb. 15 and Mar. 1St, 1-3 pm, Rain or Shine

School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Zehmer Hall, Room B

 

Course Description:

Teaches identification of trees, habitats and successful culture. Covers botanical terms and basic planting, pruning and maintenance of common ornamental trees, both native and introduced. Includes tree walk on Grounds.

 

Course Objectives/Learning Outcomes:

By course end, you will be able to identify the most common trees of Central Virginia and will have a good understanding of their cultural requirements in the home landscape.
