This is a required course for Clinical Nurse Leader students. It is designed to provide an opportunity to learn and use bio-psychosocial concepts in the care of mentally ill of all ages and in a variety of hospital and community settings. The focus of the course is on assessment strategies, plans of care, nursing interventions, medication management, and rehabilitative processes for individuals with a variety of acute and chronic mental health problems. Issues of co-morbidity with complex health conditions will be explored in the context of families, communities and health systems.
