Course Description (for SIS)

The 4887 field experience is a pre-student teaching practicum. Its main purpose is to develop students’ skill in observing and reflecting on instruction, designing instruction, and presenting whole class learning experiences. Students are assigned to one classroom through the TEd@Curry Placement Office.  The 4887 Field Placement assumes enrollment in EDIS 5060, the SPED math methods course. While 4887 is a separate course with its own requirements, assessments, and grade, enrollment in the parallel methods course is requisite.  Documented hours in the field are part of the requirement of the state-approved program required by VDOE.
