This course provides a basic foundation for seminars and research on cultural issues in health care. Issues related to access to care and social justice will be explored. Theories and assessment instruments related to cultural diversity and cultural competency will also be examined. The role of health care provider as change agent for ensuring sensitivity of differences and equality in the delivery of health care services will be discussed. Further, discussions related to the inclusion of members from minority groups or those from other cultures in research studies and its impact on evidence-based practice will be explored.
