The purpose of this class is to introduce you to teaching as a profession and to inform and influence your current perspective on schooling and teaching from that of being a student to that of being a career professional. This class should help you make an informed decision about teaching as a career. At the end of this class, if you wish to apply to or continue on in the University of Virginia’s teacher preparation program, you will be doing so with a clearer understanding of the nature of schooling in American society and our expectations for you as a student in the Curry School of Education.
