Course Description (for SIS)

The objective of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental concepts that are necessary to understand the distribution and dynamics of water near the Earth's surface. This includes the hydrologic cycle and the role of water in a variety of Earth processes.

We will discuss human influences on the hydrosphere and current topics in hydrological science and water resources, such as contamination and resource allocation, emphasizing the scientific basis for past, present, and future decisions.
