Language and music are two uniquely human skills that help us to communicate to others about the world around us and about our emotional experiences. In this course, we will explore the ways these two skills are similar and ways that they are different, focusing on the topics of sound, rhythm, melody, syntax, meaning and emotion, and evolution and development.
