Course Description (for SIS)

ECON 4400 - Topics in Economic History 
 This is a course in the monetary and financial history of the United States from the colonial period to the present.  It is in part a course which focuses on the development and evolution of financial institutions, and in part one which emphasizes the application of analytical methods from economics to historical issues.

Prerequisite:  Econ 3020 or instructor permission
