EDHS 5110 is designed to provide the pre-service physical education teacher with the theoretical knowledge (classroom) and the practical experiences (field experience) required to fulfill the professional responsibilities of a successful elementary school physical educator.

 EDH 5110 classroom portion of this course focuses on curriculum and instruction for elementary school children.  By the completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the required theoretical knowledge for successful teaching in elementary school settings.  This will be accomplished through successful completion of reading/writing assignments, regular class attendance, discussions, class presentations, video analysis, systematic observation training, lesson/unit plan development, and examinations.  The theoretical understanding required for the classroom portion of the classes’ students will include:
