Course Description (for SIS)

Participants examine education policy and practice through a multicultural education lens. Using critical studies and multicultural theoretical frameworks, we will investigate ways in which racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, ageism, and other inequities inform a diversity of students’ and families’ access to equitable learning environments. We also will consider what individuals and communities can do to ensure that all students have equitable educational opportunities.
