Course Description (for SIS)

In this course, you will learn the basics of how transistors are made and integrated into circuits. You will learn about the processes used in semiconductor fabrication, and we'll focus mostly on CMOS devices.  We begin with an overview of the CMOS process flow, followed by in-depth study of the individual unit processes, and finish the semester with a look at process and circuit integration. The course is continually updated to reflect the latest technologies and future trends.  We will examine process simulations, nanofabrication, and fabrication methods for photovoltaics, III-V devices, bipolar, bi-CMOS, and MEMS devices, as time permits.
