Course Description (for SIS)

The 4881 Field Placement experience is a pre-teaching associateship practicum. Its primary purpose is to develop students’ skills in observing and reflecting on instruction, designing instruction, and teaching lessons. In most cases, students are assigned in pairs both fall and spring semesters; actual classroom placements will change each semester. The practicum is designed to help you apply your developing knowledge and skills from your courses and prior experiences to an elementary classroom setting. You will receive a separate grade (S or U) and one credit each semester for the field placement experience.
