The course offers a practice-focused, evidence-based, and critical examination of the fundamentals of research for understanding and implementing improvement in educational settings. This course explores connections among research questions, research designs, and methods of data collection and analysis through the Improvement Research cycle of Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA). Analyses of existing research and in-class laboratory sessions provide the foundation for students’ pilot study of an improvement project.
